Sell more by narrowing your focus

900962_92614410.jpgYou’ve probably come across plenty of websites that consist of no more than a single page, and promote no more than a single product.

Surely this isn’t making good use of a website?

Actually it is. If you have a good enough product you should seriously consider whether you should build your own web site and sell just that specific item from it. Plenty of online marketers do just that, driving lots of traffic to their site by paying proper attention to web site SEO methods and setting a high enough price to make it worth their while. It’s not advisable to do this if your product costs two dollars.

Here are some points to bear in mind in order to give yourself the best chance of success:

- Pay attention to your graphics. An eye catching site will draw more people in
- For higher conversion rates make your product a downloadable one. Good quality and higher priced e-books do very well when sold from a single page site
- Take the time to write a long sales page. The longer the sales page is, the more chance you have of converting a reader into a customer
- Offer plenty of freebies to help ‘sweeten the deal’ and persuade more people to buy
- Stick to short paragraphs and break up the text to make it easier to read
- Talk to your audience one on one – a more personal approach will make them feel at ease, rather than making them feel like they’re being sold to

Constructing this type of website takes time and practice, but when you get it right you can generate lots of income from a single product. Just make sure it’s a product worth having – and something that you have created yourself.

Cheers!
